Naples, a floriated town not just for the flower beds, but for the palette of cultures, skin colour variations and customs. If only you could be there, on one of the hills, looking down on the city swarmed with gleam, sparkles and fireworks. From dawn till dusk, as far as you can see, rejoicings are everywhere any time. Deliberately, Dante composed his famous wok “Inferno” exactly in the milieu between the gulf of Pozzuoli and Baia. This place is known for its hot climate and sulphur-saturated air. But it’s gorgeous! If Italians perceive it as hell, I wonder what heaven would be like.

This romantic gulf has a serious historical background – located within Portus Julius, which was the home port for the Roman western imperial fleet. This grandiose naval base, named for Julius Caesar, is mostly submerged at present due to the volcanic activities. The construction of many settlements was undertaken by Julius Caesar and Nero Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus, and also the Emperor Augustus had a villa at a panoramic location along the coast. Even Seneca Jr. summed it up as a “resort of vice”. Moreover, the famous eccentric Caligula spent some of his formative years there.

Yacht, manufactured for Bulgaria awaits her dear guests on the same harbor where Dante composed his work “Inferno”…

The hibernation of a belle

In the gulf of Baia, a beautiful yacht, constructed particularly for Bulgaria – Baia Italia 70’ cast an anchor for her winter sleep. It is quite likely that the name evokes memories of a warm luxurious “sea home” as we have presented tidings about this model in the issue preceding the last one. Cantieri di Baia came to an agreement with its trusty agent ICS Yachting on the open 70-ft cruiser to be wintering in the gulf of Baia for the objective of reducing her hours of service. This is certainly good news! As we know, winters in Naples are much milder than here; furthermore, it is a great opportunity for tourists flying to Italy actuated by their shopping mania, to add up more unforgettable memories by testing the fastest yacht in her category. Realize your inspiration by simply dialing the office numbers of ISC Yachting in Ruse and you will be scheduled time convenient for both sides.
Let us once again get a deep understanding of her exquisiteness!

Trendily decorated

The interior designers have made such a wonderful composition by selecting fascinating colours for the base materials that sway the minds of all guests onboard Italia 70’. These are: dark teak colour wenge in combination with exotic African zebra (the latter adorns every detail – the doors, the comfy bar in the cockpit) and leather. Additional colour-enrichment effect is attained by the red leather cushions that lay temptingly on the L-shaped sofa astern. It is said that the core of any open cruiser is the cockpit – the place where any fun-seeking group of seafarers spend most of its time. Behind the two-seater pilot chair is the L-shaped white leather settee neighboring an extendable table opposite to the panelled zebra bar. The favourite place of our team is the other U-shaped sofa at the end of the stern adjacent to a collapsible table. One can take the utmost enjoyment onboard Italia 70’, when the yacht is on the fly. The wind becomes tactile to a degree that no other motor-driven vehicle can provide, even the fastest Cabrio. Imagine – your cheeks, filled out with so much air, start to shiver. And here it is – Baia’s specialty – the raging water behind flows into a white crest bursted by the surface transmissions of the Arneson Drive System. If you happen to detect any bad weather, drop the hard top and in no time the cockpit is transformed into a safe isolated saloon. In addition, pleasant ventilation can be created by opening the sun-roof or by simply sliding the lateral windows.

54 knots!

The yacht has a typical lay out – the VIP cabin is at the bow and the owner’s cabin at the stern. The VIP lounge features an enormous double bed covered with alluring yellow diamond cushions. Situated on the port side is the small but fully equipped kitchen. The small crew cabin for 2 pax is discreetly isolated without compromising any needs and necessities. The ravaging performance of the turbo-diesel engines (Caterpillar C12, 1850HP x2 Rpm) is realized by the Common Rail Injection System. For just 18 seconds the yacht accelerates from zero to 40 knots and shortly after reaches the amazing 54 knots striking out even the catalogue numbers. The hull of Italia 70’ is made of Kevlar/Aramat promising lightness and safety which are extremely important for both sports supercars and fast cruisers that treasure the sense of freedom.

On 100 ft at 50 kt

The biggest cruiser in Baia’s outstanding fleet – the long-awaited ONE HUNDRED – was demonstrated on November 15, 2008 in the beautiful context of Naples. The 100-ft model was announced at Genoa 47th International Boat Show in 2007 where only sketches were presented. One Hundred is the new flagship, a “maxi-open” of an overall length of 31 meters and a maximum beam of 7.34 meters, source of pride to the shipyard and to the entire nautical industry in Campania, considering that this is the first superyacht completely built in Naples. Despite her size, this advanced yacht perfectly combines the shipyard tradition with steady technical and construction patterns. In order to guarantee high performance, the MTU engines can be either 2 x 2430 HP or 3 x 2430 HP, each coupled with Arneson Drive System. The extreme sport lovers can be lured on the 2 x 3510 HP MTU 12V 4000 M-93. The top speed is 50 knots. Her focal points – easy accessibility and ‘brightness’ achieved by the crystal top surface of the lateral windows, as well as convenient folding hard top.
